I will try to explain the organization framework of this blog. This is obviously a work in progress, so suggestions for improvement/modifications are welcome.
Categories :- I find categorization extremely helpful. The idea is to keep the categories as distinct as possible i.e. once I write a post, I should be clear as to which category it goes to. If it doesn’t really fit into a particular category, I create a new category that resonates with the main theme of the post. Generally, you won’t find something uncategorized or in multiple categories, unless it is work in progress
like this one.
Ideas :- I write about ideas here. Some of them are my ideas, others are from people that I am inspired by. Anything goes here. Interesting websites, Learning tools, a new way of working, anything.
Mails from my Dad :- My dad keeps forwarding me a lot of interesting stuff to read, and he writes well too. (Check out his website on my blogroll). I created this category to store all this material, so that I can refer to them in the future. Also, I dislike the idea of bulky forwards. If the article is on my blog, I can just send people the links to the article. Thus it serves two purposes, 1) archival 2) easy access and reference. I plan on extending this idea to include interesting forwards from other people as well. Obviously, it isn’t worth archiving, if it isn’t high quality.
Also, rest assured that you won’t read personal emails here.
Psychology :- My views on how we think. I try to add a little humor. Generally meant for light reading. If you don’t like the reasoning, let me know or just ignore it. This isn’t meant to be a place for flame wars.
Reflections :- Refocusing on past experiences can lead to interesting and sometimes even embarrassing insights
Fav. Videos:- All it takes to cheer me up is a great video and some fantastic music. If a picture is worth a thousand words, an inspiring video is priceless. So, I’ve added a vodpod widget to my blog to collect some videos. Hope you like them.
